So many good things are happening!
1) Today I got my residency status in Japan changed to Long Term Resident, which means I can work ANY JOB IN JAPAN! (Well, there are some exceptions like prime minister…) This is such a relief to me because I was having a hard time finding jobs that would/could sponsor the change from Instructor to Specialty in Humanities.
2) My new job is super fun and I love going! My 3-6 year old students are the most adorable things in the world! And another bonus is that the school is 10 minutes from my house by bike. Awesome.
3) One of my aunties came to visit Mark and I this week, and since she speaks a little English, we can have real conversations haha.
4) This weekend I am meeting up with a cousin I haven’t seen in years! Mark and I are going to meet her and her boyfriend for lunch tomorrow in Shibuya because…
5) One of my college friends is in Tokyo! We’re going to try and meet up Saturday night and maybe Sunday morning. I can’t wait to show him around a bit, plus he can meet some of my friends since…
6) A bunch of my friends are in Tokyo for the Yamathon!
At the start of the week, I had no idea what a fun and exciting week this would turn out to be! I was actually dreading it because Mark and the Shiz JETs had a two day conference, and I had to spend the night alone. Instead, I played with my students, had dinner with my auntie, made amazing weekend plans, and ate guacamole YUM.
Seriously, love life right now.
